Seventy-five years ago today, Japanese forces attacked the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
President Franklin Roosevelt declared it ?a date which will live in infamy,? and it ushered America?'s entrance into World War II. The bombing of Pearl Harbor killed 2,400 people, the worst attack on the United States prior to 9/11.
Here to talk about the impact that Pearl Harbor had on the nation and here in Cincinnati are Dan Hurley, president of Applied History Associates and host and producer of 12 Newsmakers on WKRC-TV; and Dr. Bob Miller, adjunct professor in the University of Cincinnati Department of History and author of World War II Cincinnati: From the Front Lines to the Home Front.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Boone County Public Library in Burlington will host four WWII veterans at 7 p.m. this evening who will share their experiences during the war. The event is free, no registration is required.
