Museum Center names new CEO
The Cincinnati Museum Center has named Elizabeth Pierce its new president and chief executive officer.
Pierce is currently serving as interim CEO. She takes over for Doug McDonald, who retired in January.
In a statement, Museum Center board of trustees chair Francie S. Hiltz says, "after careful evaluation of the qualifications for this position, we determined the best candidate was also the one currently in the role. Elizabeth has tremendous passion to fuel curiosity. She understands the scope of our business operations and the impact we want to have on our community. We are confident that she is the right person at the right time to lead Cincinnati Museum Center into the future.”
After getting her start at the Chicago Children's Museum, Pierce became the Cincinnati Musuem Center's communications consultant in 2001. She eventually moved up to vice president of marketing & communications in 2007.
The museum center says, "during her tenure, Elizabeth has dynamically engaged CMC curators and exhibition staff to leverage the vast collections for community impact and fundraising growth."
Pierce was also an integral part of the 2014 Cultural Facilities Task Force, which led the push to pass a sales tax to renovate Union Terminal.
