Boone County Judge/Executive Gary Moore has led his Northern Kentucky county through unprecedented growth. It is one of the fastest-growing counties in all of Kentucky.
Moore has been Boone County's top elected official since 1999 and now he is the president-elect of the National Association of Counties.
This week, Moore is serving in that role during the association's national legislative conference. He joins Cincinnati Edition to talk about local preparations for the coronavirus, community complaints involving blasting near the construction site of the Amazon hub at the CVG Airport, the cost of inmate health care at county jails and several other issues facing counties across the country.
