The Northern Kentucky Health Department is reporting its first COVID-19 death. According to a news release, the patient was over 60, a resident of Kenton County and had underlying medical conditions.
District Director of Health Dr. Lynn Saddler says, "This sad event underscores our message now more than ever - all Northern Kentuckians need to maintain social distancing and stay healthy at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19."
Late Saturday afternoon, three additional coronavirus cases were identified, bringing a total of 26 in Northern Kentucky. Kenton County has 16 cases. There are five in Boone County, four in Campbell and one in Grant County.
The Health Department says availability of tests is "limited and healthcare providers and systems are carefully determining who needs to be tested. For those with no or mild symptoms, testing is not recommended."
