Get an audio tour of the renovated Reds Hall of Fame and Museum on WVXU's Around Cincinnati at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 10.

Rick Walls, Hall of Fame executive director, reveals details about the first major upgrade for the Reds' celebration of the 150th anniversary of the 1869 Red Stockings, baseball's first all professional team.

The museum closed Nov. 1 so all 16,000-square feet can be redesigned, repurposed or reconfigured.

Among the additions described by Walls:

  • Moving the Hall of Fame plaques into the area where the "Great Eight" life-size statues were exhibited
  • Lots of interactive videos allowing visitors to play a video about each Reds Hall of Fame member
  • Several thousand baseball cards displayed for the first time in the third-floor exhibition space
  • The club's 150-year history will be told in chronological order on the third floor
  • The renovations include the Rose Garden south of the museum, where a pavilion honoring the 1869 team will be dedicated in May

The Hall of Fame and Museum will reopen on Opening Day, before the Reds play the Pittsburgh Pirates at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, March 28.
