'We Gotta Shout!' All-star Concert Brings Gospel And Jazz

Provided

In 1963, legendary singer Clara Ward and her gospel singers performed alongside the Dukes of Dixieland on the album We Gotta Shout! The album has long been hailed for breaking down cultural barriers. Now, a local jazz orchestra and an all-star gospel choir are taking the stage to do it again.

The Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra (CCJO) presents "We Gotta Shout!" at Corinthian Baptist Church in Bond Hill on Feb. 23. Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the performance are CCJO Artistic Director Eric Lechliter; and directing the 14-member choir is New Jerusalem Baptist Church Minister of Music A. Michael Cunningham.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
