Beware Of Shopping Scams

Shoppers throughout the state are looking for bargains. Scammers are looking for distracted shoppers.

Attorney General Mike DeWine says con artists pose as sellers online, taking money for things they never deliver. Or he says there’s the charity scam where thieves solicit money for themselves instead of the charity they purport to help.

“If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.”

DeWine advises Ohioans to use their credit cards for holiday shopping because there would be more recourse for consumers if they are scammed.
