Bill Hemmer Speaks At Xavier April 13

Fox News Channel

Bill Hemmer takes a break from “America’s Newsroom” to head home and speak at Xavier University on April 13.

The Fox News Channel anchor from Delhi Township will address Xavier University’s Williams College of Business Distinguished Speakers Luncheon. His topic: “Leadership: How To Get ‘From Here To There’ Through Technology, Experience And Hard Work.”

The noon lunch and lecture are free, thanks to sponsor PNC, says Margie Simon, Xavier publicist. Reservations must be made at this link by March 31.

The Elder High School (1983) and Miami University (1987) graduate got his first experience in broadcasting at WMUB-FM (88.5). He started his career as a sports producer for WLWT-TV (Channel 5).  He switched to news at WCPO-TV (Channel 9), and traveled around the world, before leaving for CNN in 1995. Ten years later, he joined the Fox News Channel in August 2005.

For Fox News, he has co-anchored a GOP presidential debate, covered the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the Fort Hood shooting, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and other major stories. He also has been involved with election coverage for more than 20 years on Fox and CNN.

On Fridays in the fall, Hemmer wears purple ties on “America’s Newsroom” (9-11 a.m. weekdays, Fox News) to support his beloved Elder Panthers football team. He co-anchors “America’s Newsroom” with Marth MacCallum.

He’s @BillHemmer on Twitter.
