The Blues: 5.16.15 show

This week on The Blues, Saturday evening, May 16th at 11pm eastern, the first half of the program features two sets of music followed by an interview about the Jazz Houses app of New Orleans.

Keb' Mo' begins the first set of music followed by local musician Kelly Richey and one of my favorite songs, "Take Me to the River" by RatDog with help from Charlie Musselwhite.  The second set starts off with Keith Little from the Shades of Blue 2 cd, then the High Street Rhythm Rockers and New Orleans pianist Allen Touissant.

The second half of The Blues features an interview by local guitarist Stuart Holman with Samantha Diamond of Culture Connect and Suzanne Blaum, Director of Education & Outreach, at the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans.  They discuss the Jazz Houses app which features the former homes and locations of over 50 jazz musicians who played in New Orleans.

You'll also hear songs by some of these musicians including Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Domino, and Professor Longhair.
