Cincinnati will once again be in the spotlight as "The Blunderer" begins filming November 17.
The movie stars Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson and will be entirely shot in Greater Cincinnati. The same producers filmed "Carol" here and said, "The Film Commission, the rebate, locations, infrastructure, and welcoming people of Cincinnati brought us back a second time within one year."
The Blog Thompson on Hollywood said this when quoting one of the producers:
Ted Hope describes "The Blunderer" as "a modern day Hitchcock doled out with a healthy dose of today's sexuality and violence, but told with the wit, cunning, and drama that makes Andy the perfect choice for his feature film debut." More on the synopsis below.
"The Blunderer" follows the young, successful and handsome, Walter Stackhouse who seems to have it all, that is, until the day his wife’s body is found at the bottom of a cliff. Under the intense scrutiny of the investigation he commits one mistake, then another, until - in true Highsmithian fashion - Walter finds his perfect life derailed. Now Walter is running from the obsessions of the murderer, and the suspicions of the lead cop, not to mention his own increasingly life-threatening blunders.
“We are maintaining sustainable work for locals,” said Kristen Schlotman, Executive Director of the Greater Cincinnati Film Commission. “We are also excited to have attracted and retained so many young people to Greater Cincinnati. This industry has had a tremendous impact on the local economy and we are excited to have repeat business with Killer Films. People come to Cincinnati and then want to return.”
A news release says, “The Blunderer” will create hundreds of jobs and have a significant economic impact on our area. So far productions have spent $26 million in direct impact on our economy prior to this production. One reason is a rebate Ohio offers. Read about it this WVXU story.
