In the midst of a domestic violence charge, Campbell County School Superintendent Glen Miller has announced his retirement.
Here's a statement from Campbell County Board Chair Janis Winbigler:
Mr. Glen Miller has notified the Board of Education of his intent to retire as superintendent of Campbell County Schools. Mr. Miller’s retirement will be effective November 1. Please be assured the Board of Education will be moving forward to quickly address this situation and ensure continuity of leadership. The Board of Education’s primary goal is to ensure the ongoing success of the district.
Miller has been on leave since his arrest September 23. The board put Miller on leave after he was arrested on a charge of domestic violence.
Miller has been the superintendent since June 2011. Before that he served four years as superintendent of the Beechwood Independent School District.
WCPO reports Miller's daughter called 911 to report the 53-year-old Erlanger resident had attacked her mother. A police report said the girl and her mother fled the scene of the attack and met with an officer at a nearby church. The daughter told a dispatcher Miller had "struck her mother in the face and neck."
Miller is due in court October 19.
