First Lutheran Church in Over-the-Rhine.

For 126 years, First Lutheran Church's bell tower has looked over Washington Park and Over-the-Rhine. But the iconic landmark's fate is in serious question.

The tower needs a complete renovation that will cost roughly $3 million, and the church -- which has been in the neighborhood for almost 180 years -- can't afford the repairs alone.

With urgent demolition orders pending from the city, church leaders and historic preservation groups are attempting one last effort to save a piece of Over-the-Rhine's skyline.
