Chris Comer, jazz pianist and leader of The Chris Comer Trio, has reformed and revamped the lineup for the new JAZZ EXPLOSION. The Chris Comer Jazz Explosion performs at MOTR Pub on Sunday August 17 at 7:00pm. No opening act. Named in tribute of great traditional ensembles like The Jazz Messengers, The Jazz Crusaders and The Jazz Passengers, the all-new JAZZ EXPLOSION adds a funk, rock, avant-experimental art-damage element to improvisational music and promises to sound nothing like traditional jazz. Augmenting Chris on his vintage Fender Rhodes electric piano are Brent Olds, bass player with local hip-hop aggregate ISWHAT?!, Dan Barger on saxophone and other reed instruments, and Bart Foster on drums.
