Cincinnati officials have announced that East Price Hill and Walnut Hills have been selected for this year’s Neighborhood Enhancement Program.
The two areas were selected based on a number of factors. Those include: building code violations, vacant buildings, disorder and drug calls for police service and drug arrests, as well as graffiti, junk cars, litter and weeds.
“We are happy to kick off another year of partnerships in our neighborhoods through this program,” said Scott Stilies, interim City Manager. “The NEP complements the other ways the city is investing in the vitality of the city overall.”
THE NEP will be in East Price Hill from March through May and in Walnut Hills from mid-August to mid-November. These will be the 17th and 18th communities to participate in the program.
The city services team includes staff from police, fire, health, trade and development, planning and buildings, recreation, transportation and engineering, parks and public services.
Ongoing community partners for the Neighborhood Enhancement Program include: U.S. Bank, PNC Bank, Huntington Bank, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, People Working Cooperatively, Inc., The Home Ownership Center of Greater Cincinnati, Inc., Community Action Agency, Citizens on Patrol, the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors, and the Cincinnati Energy Alliance.
