Two organizations devoted to business and residential growth downtown will now work together.

Two downtown organizations focused on Cincinnati's urban core are joining forces. Effective January 1, 2019, Downtown Cincinnati Inc. (DCI) will become a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC).

3CDC's Joe Rudemiller says initially the city suggested the two work more closely together for efficiency. "The city just saw there were two organizations performing very similar functions and so they thought it would be a good idea to take a look to see if we were operating together as opposed to on parallel tracks."

A news release from 3CDC says, "With efficiencies anticipated, the joint operation expects to expand and improve services for all stakeholders throughout downtown and OTR through initiatives that include the Safe and Clean Program, Ambassador Program, and numerous marketing and development efforts by DCI and 3CDC."

Rudemiller says, " Essentially, nothing is changing at this time. We’ll spend the next few months analyzing the work of both organizations to determine how we can operate more efficiently as a whole."
