Electronic Cigarettes

Sales of electronic cigarettes, battery-powered devices that allow users to inhale doses of vaporized nicotine, are expected to reach over $1 billion in the US this year. Some say e-cigarettes help  smokers kick their habit, but their long-term health risks are still under study. Dr. Susan Pinney, program leader, Cancer Etiology, Control and Prevention of the Cincinnati Cancer Institute and and deputy director of the Center for Environmental Genetics, Nurse Practitioner and Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist with the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, Michael Krueger,  and Dr. Shannon C. Miller, VA Medical Center physician and certified tobacco treatment specialist and UC College of Medicine professor of Clinical Psychiatry discuss tobacco smoking and e-cigarettes.
