Hazardous Material Spills and Response

According to a four-month investigation conducted by The Cincinnati Enquirer, Ohio leads the country in hazardous material transportation accidents, with more than a quarter of Ohio's overall incidents occurring in Greater Cincinnati. Last year, our area experienced a hazardous material spill every day on average. Joining us to look at the danger of hazmat spills in our region, and how local emergency agencies respond to them, are Cincinnati Enquirer investigative reporter James Pilcher, and William Turner, director of the Campbell County, Kentucky Office of Emergency Management.

Jay Hanselman brings more than 10 years experience as a news anchor and reporter to 91.7 WVXU. He came to WVXU from WNKU, where he hosted the local broadcast of All Things Considered. Hanselman has been recognized for his reporting by the Kentucky AP Broadcasters Association, the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, and the Ohio AP Broadcasters.
