Hillary Clinton's Public Campaign Event Moved From Cincinnati To Columbus

Department of State

The public event Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton had scheduled for Sept. 10 in Cincinnati has been moved to Columbus, according to a Clinton campaign official.

But the former Secretary of State is still coming to Cincinnati that day for a $2,700 per person private fundraiser.

The original plan had been to combine Clinton’s fundraising event with a public “Women for Hillary” event in Cincinnati at a venue that had yet to be determined. Now, according to a Clinton campaign official, the “Women for Hillary” event will be held in Columbus – where there will also be a private fundraising event for the Clinton campaign.

The fundraising event here will be hosted by Jennie and Allan Berliant of Cincinnati, who have been prodigious Democratic fundraisers in the past, most notably for President Obama’s re-election campaign. The $2,700 per person ticket is the maximum an individual can give for the primary election cycle.

The former First Lady and U.S. Senator from New York campaigned in Cleveland last week.

Last fall, she campaigned at Northern Kentucky University for Alison Lundergan Grimes, who lost Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race to incumbent Republican Mitch McConnell.

The Clinton campaign offered no explanation for why the “Women for Hillary” event was being moved from Cincinnati to Columbus.
