Before Adam West comes to the Cincinnati Comic Expo this weekend, I want you to see his most famous appearance here – with crazy movie host Bob Shreve on WKRC-TV’s “Past Prime Playhouse.”

West, in his “Batman” mask and cape, visits Channel 12’s all-night movie show while in town for a custom car show in late 1975 or early 1976.

TV’s former “Batman” (1966-68) swings onto the set on a rope and tells Bob he’s working on his first case here in Cincinnati. To which Bob says: “It’s funny that you say you’re working on your first case, because I’m working on my third!”

Shreve started hosting Schoenling Beer’s “All-Night Theater” in 1963 on WCPO-TV, then took it to WLWT-TV in 1970. The show aired as the “PPP” on Channel 12 from 1975 to 1985. Shreve started his funny business on Channel 5 in 1950. He died in 1990 at age 78.

West will be joined by his “Dynamic Duo” sidekick Robin the Boy Wonder (Burt Ward) Saturday and Sunday at the Comic Expo in the Duke Energy Convention Center. It’s an early 50th anniversary celebration of TV’s “Batman,” which premiered Jan. 12, 1966 on ABC.

If you see West, wish him a happy birthday. He turns 87 on Saturday. Ward was 70 on July 6.

The Comic Expo lineup includes Steve Guttenberg (“3 Men and a Baby,” “Police Academy,” “Diner”); Robin Lord Taylor (“Gotham”); Ian Ziering (“Sharknado” movies, “Beverly Hills 90210”); Sean Astin (“The Lord of the Rings,” “The Goonies,” “Rudy”); Katrina Law (“Arrow”); Graham McTavish (“The Hobbit,” “Outlander”); Eve Myles (“Doctor Who,” “Torchwood”) and a “Back To The Future” 30th anniversary celebration with James Tolkan (Mr. Strickland), Claudia Wells (Jennifer Parker) and Harry Waters Jr. (Marvin Berry). Also scheduled are a couple of Power Rangers (David Yost, Austin St. John) and voice actresses from “Frozen,” Eva Bella and Livvy Stubenrauch.
