Growing some of your own food is a great start, but there are several things you can do to be more green in your yard and garden.

Whether you're an avid gardener or just want to keep your landscape looking good, there are dozens of simple things you can do that are not only kinder to the environment but will cut-down on the time and money you spend on your yard.

Attracting the right kind of bugs, using natural pesticides, sticking with native plants, companion planting, composting and developing smart watering habits are just some of the ways to make your yard more environmentally friendly.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss how you can make your yard and garden even greener and to answer your gardening questions are Campbell County Extension Office Horticulture Agent Sarah Stolz; Turner Farm Community Garden Manager Joshua Jones; Assistant Professor in The Ohio State University Department of Entomology and Ohio State Extension Agent for Hamilton County, Joe Boggs; Boone County Cooperative Extension Horticulture Extension Agent David Koester; and Cincinnati Zoo Horticulturist Scott Beuerlein.

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden will hold its annual Sustainable Urban Landscapes Symposium Thursday March 14.

Make note of Turner Farm's upcoming gardening programs, and see Boone County Extension program information, as well as classes and events in Campbell County.
