From America Abroad: we will look back at the Golden Age of Islam and the contribution of Arab Muslim scholars to some of the greatest advances in astronomy and the challenges faced in today’s Muslim majority countries.

For instance, can Jordan entice enough scientists from a politically unstable Middle East to come and use its particle accelerator?

And will Turkey’s aims to reclaim the mantle as world leader astronomy may be stymied by the government’s aversion to teaching parts of modern scientific theory?

Finally, we’ll see what it’ll take for the Muslim World to build and sustain its own space program. Anchored by Madeleine Brand.
