Voters in Louisville on Election Day 2020.

For the first time in state history Kentucky's legislature is fully controlled by Republicans during the redistricting process. Now that the 2020 Census is complete, Kentucky is set to begin its map-making process. What impact could these super majorities in both chambers of the general assembly have on new legislative and congressional boundaries?

The League of Women Voters of Kentucky is advocating for a redistricting process that eliminates partisan gerrymandering.

"We want voters to choose their representatives. We don't want representatives choosing us," says Dee Pregliasco with the League of Women Voters of Kentucky.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss their proposals for a fairer redistricting process are League of Women Voters of Kentucky First Vice President and Redistricting Committee Chair Dee Pregliasco; University of Kentucky College of LawAshland, Inc-Spears Distinguished Research Professor of Law Joshua Douglas; and State Redistricting Committee Member Karen Brown.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
