Live Radio Special: Violence in El Paso & Dayton

JOHN MINCHILLO / AP

Monday, August 5 at 8:00 p.m.

After a weekend of gun violence that claimed at least 31 lives in El Paso and Dayton, the conversation program Thinktakes a deep dive into the issues America is grappling with.

Host Krys Boyd talks with KERA reporter Stella Chavez, who attended a memorial service that included the parents of a victim of last year’s Parkland, Florida, school shooting.

Other guests include Mark Rosenberg, president emeritus of The Task Force for Global Health, about ways to address gun violence; reporter Christopher Connelly, who’s been tracking the background of the accused El Paso shooter; and Andrew Yarrow, author of Man Out: Men on the Sidelines of American Life, about why young white men turn to violence.
