Nov 12, 2019

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.

The Dozier School for Boys: Forensics, Survivors, and a Painful Past is a new book by Mount St. Joseph University professor Dr. Elizabeth A. Murray. She has been an educator and forensic scientist for more than three decades and her knowledge has landed her regular appearances on TV programs such as National Geographic Channel's Skeleton Crew, Discover Health Channel's Skeleton Stories and others.

Now, Dr. Murray is turning her attention to a troubled boys reformatory school in Florida where for more than a century, staff members physically, mentally and sexually abused the boys who were sent there.

Some of the boys died.

Murray joins Cincinnati Edition to talk about her research of the Dozier School, which closed in 2011, and what forensics can tell us about what happened there.
