Like many Cincinnati neighborhoods, Westwood has been working on plans to revitalize its business district.
Now residents have a chance to share their ideas Saturday during a community meeting.
John Eby said it’s the culmination of five years of work.
“What we’re asking people to do is to come together as a community and really give us their feedback on their ideas on what should happen within our business district,” Eby said.
The meeting will include a presentation and discussion.
Four neighborhood groups have formed a coalition to work on the revitalization.
Mary Jenkins is with the Westwood Civic Association and is also coalition facilitator. She said residents will be asked specific questions about the business district along Harrison Avenue between Kling and the Cheviot border.
“What are the characteristics or places in the business district that you like, what are our challenges, what are our landmarks, what are the characteristics we would like to see in this neighborhood going forward,” Jenkins said.
The goal of the revitalization is to make the Westwood business district a destination that attracts not only residents but people from outside the neighborhood.
The revitalization could include a neighborhood square. City council approved funding for a feasibility study for that earlier this year.
The meeting Saturday morning from 9 until noon at the Westwood United Methodist Church at 3460 Epworth Avenue.
