Miami University's Women's Ice Hockey head Coach Scott Hicks has been named to help lead Team USA.
Hicks will serve as an assistant coach for the Women’s National University Team. The team will compete at the 2015 Winter World University Games in Spain. The games run Feb. 4-14 in Granada.
Hicks was named 2014 ACHA Division I Coach of the Year after leading the squad to the ACHA National Championship. According to Miami's website, "Miami finished the 2013-2014 campaign with an astounding 30-2-3 record and were ranked number one in both the coaches poll and computer rankings for the entire season."
According to his biography, "Hicks also helped start the men’s program at Northern Kentucky University in 2005 where he played for three seasons after completing three years of junior hockey."
This will be his first time coaching with Team USA, according to USA Hockey.
