Mix 94.9 Raising Funds For Toys For Tots Today

WREWX-FM

Mix 94.9 raises funds for the U.S. Marines Corps Reserves Toys for Tots today during its third annual "Toys for Tunes" on-air campaign.

Listeners can call the station at 513-749-5309 and make a song request for a $20 donation to Toys for Tots. Their song can be played next for a $100 donation.

During select “power hours,” Meijer will double donations. U.S. Marines will be on the phone throughout the day speaking with listeners and taking donations. The station has raised $28,000 for Toys for Tots in the past two years.

WREW-FM also uses the fund-raiser to introduce its new morning team member, Sandy McIlree from Austin, Texas, who will join Ray Anderson and Karen Van Zant weekdays starting today.

McIlree was half of the popular "JB and Sandy" morning show on Austin's KOKE-FM (105.3) for 18 years.  He was named the Austin Chronicle's "Best Radio Personality" four times, and was nominated in 2004 for Radio & Records' “Best Radio Personality” award.

Hubbard Interactive's WREW-FM was No. 8 in Nielsen's November rankings for all listeners here.  Sister stations WUBE-FM (B105.1) and WKRQ-FM (Q102) were No. 3 and 4, respectively.
