Northern Kentucky shows strong 2012 job numbers

Northern Kentucky Tri-ED

Northern Kentucky is posting strong jobs numbers for 2012. The Tri-County Economic Development Corporation reports 24 companies announced new locations or expansion projects last year, creating nearly 3,774 jobs.

Boone County Judge Executive and Tri-Ed Chairman Gary Moore says that's pretty good given the economic situation.

"This is the fourth highest as far as job creation... in our 25 year history," he says. "It's the seventh highest in capital investment. All of these are great signs that Northern Kentucky is positioned well for future growth and recovery."

Tri-Ed says it will take about three years to realize all the new jobs. The group says the next challenge is making Kentucky's tax code more business friendly.
