Cincinnati State's newly chosen 6th president made her first public comments Friday. Monica Posey says her goal is to take the college to the next level.

"It's all about workforce development," she says. "It's about the fact that we are the best institution to meet employers' needs, to provide the talent to make sure we have a skilled workforce."

Posey adds that it's important to connect and collaborate in new ways with government, community organizations, and businesses to make sure students have jobs lined up when they graduate.

The Cincinnati State Board of Trustees voted unanimously to confirm Posey Monday. She is the first hired from within the school since 1994, according to a statement.

Posey is Cincinnati State's first African-American, female president.
