President George H.W. Bush: A National Remembrance

Former President George H.W. Bush's remains lie in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Monday.

The nation celebrates the life of the 41st president. Join us Wednesday for special coverage of the state funeral from NPR News.Live coverage begins at 11 a.m. on 91.7 WVXU and online at WVXU.org.

Funeral services will be held at the Washington National Cathedral.

Expected attendees include President Donald Trump, as well as former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter.

NPR National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson, White House Correspondent Scott Horsley, and Congressional Correspondent Scott Detrow will provide insights along with Host Audie Cornish.

Following the state funeral, former President Bush's remains will be returned to Texas to lie in repose at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston before being transported by train to College Station, Texas. He'll be buried Thursday on the grounds of the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum at Texas A&M University.
