Pride Parade Closes Some Downtown Streets Saturday

The 2017 Cincinnati Pride Parade walked through Fountain Square, as it will again this year.

The Cincinnati Pride parade takes place Saturday, June 23, and organizers tell WVXU they expect more than 100,000 people to attend the 45th year of the Queen City's parade and festival. 

The parade starts at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Seventh Street and Central Avenue and concludes at Sawyer Point, where the 2018 Cincinnati Pride festival will be held. The parade affects the following streets: 

Starting at 8 AM 

  • Seventh Street exit ramp from southbound I-75 will be closed 
  • Seventh Street ramp from Gest Street will be closed 
  • W. Eighth Street eastbound at Linn Street will be closed 

Starting at 10:30 AM 

  • Seventh Street closed between Central Avenue and Walnut Street
  • Plum Street closed between Eighth Street and Sixth Street 
  • Race Street closed between Garfield Place and Sixth Street 
  • Fifth Street closed between Race Street and Walnut Street 
  • Vine Street, Rosa Parks Street closed north of Ted Berry Way 
  • Freedom Way closed between Race Street and Joe Nuxhall Way 
  • Walnut Street closed south of Second Street (local access only)
  • Joe Nuxhall Way closed south of Second Street 
  • Mehring Way closed between Elm Street and E. Pete Rose Way 
  • E. Pete Rose Way closed between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way 
  • Johnny Bench Way closed 

Areas Where Crossing Is Permitted With Police Assistance 

  • Seventh Street at Central Avenue 
  • Seventh Street at Elm Street 
  • Vine Street at Sixth Street 
  • Vine Street at Fourth Street 
  • Vine Street at Third Street 
  • Vine Street at Second Street 

All streets will immediately reopen following the parade's conclusion at approximately 3 p.m.
