Quakers historical impact on our region

Jan 27, 2015

The Society of Friends, more commonly known as the Quakers, came to Ohio in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The Quakers played a major role in nineteenth-century reform efforts including the temperance, women's rights, and abolition movements. We learn about the Quakers and their impact in our region from Society of Friends Minister Donne Hayden and Sabrina Darnowsky, who has written a book on the history of Quakers in Cincinnati, Friends Past and Present, The Bicentennial History of Cincinnati Friends Meeting (1815-2015).
