U.S. Rep Tim Ryan, a Democrat who represents Ohio's 13th Congressional District in the northeastern part of the state, voted in favor of the resolution establishing rules and procedures for the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Ryan was joined by all but two Democrats in voting for the resolution on Thursday. It passed by a vote of 232-196, with independent Michigan Congressman Justin Amash joining the Democrats, and two Democrats joining all the Republicans in opposition.

Ryan spoke Thursday with WVXU's Cincinnati Edition host Michael Monks before the vote took place. The interview had been scheduled as part of a segment set to air next week about Ryan's recently ended campaign in the Democratic presidential primary.

Considering the historic nature of Thursday's vote, Ryan also agreed to weigh in on the impeachment inquiry proceedings so far.

Michael Monks brings a broad range of experience to WVXU-FM as the host of Cincinnati Edition, Cincinnati Public Radio's weekday news and information talk show.
