A social enterprise utilizes a combination of for-profit and non-profit based models for improving society. Rather than depend on charitable donations, it relies on the income earned from sales or services. And it reinvests its income to maintain long-term financial sustainability.
Greater Cincinnati has become home to several social enterprises and more people are realizing the value of the concept. October 3 through 8 is Social Enterprise Week in Cincinnati. The week kicks off October 3 with the Social Enterprise CINCY Summit.
