Straight talk on internet security and identity theft prevention leading in to the holidays

  

Online shopping and banking, social media sites, smartphones and tables and ever-growing free wi-fi networks and provided us with an amazing amount of freedom and convenience. Sadly, it has done the same for criminals. Malware, email phishing schemes, massive data breaches at national retailers such as Target and Home Depot, and plain old theft, more than 3 million smartphones were stolen in the United States last year, put our most personal and vital information at risk. October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month, and joining us to identify online dangers and to share tips on how you can protect your information are Dave Hatter, solution architect and partner with Definity Partners, LLC, and Phil Horney, director of technology at the NKU METS Center.
