A suspect is in custody following a shooting Thursday night in Deerfield Township and a subsequent manhunt that lasted seven hours.
Warren County authorities say 19-year-old Mohammed Abdou Laghaoui shot a female sheriff's deputy who was responding to a domestic situation at an apartment complex. Another man was also shot
Deputy Katie Barnes is reportedly doing well. The other victim also has non-life-threatening injuries.
At a news conference Friday morning, Sheriff Larry Sims said Barnes was only grazed by a bullet from an AK-47. "The good news out of this is we came out a winner in this. And Deputy Barnes came out a winner in this and she's going to be back."
Laghaoui will be arraigned June 13 on charges of attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder, and two counts of felonious assault.
Those living near the crime scene were told to shelter in place while police searched for Laghaoui.
