Terrace Plaza Hotel: An Icon

Dec 13, 2013

A new book by Shawn Patrick Tubb provides an in-depth look at a Cincinnati landmark. Cincinnati’s Terrace Plaza Hotel: An Icon of American Modernism tells the stories of the art and architecture that inspired the planning, design and construction of the hotel, which was a showcase for modern art and technology, when it opened in 1948. Book Editor Sue Ann Painter joins us to talk about the book, and why the Cincinnati Preservation Society calls the Terrace Plaza the most important Modernist building in Cincinnati.

This Saturday she and forward contributor Aaron Betsky will be at the main branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County to discuss Shawn Patrick Tubb’s book on the Terrace Plaza.
