Former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing will stand trial beginning Oct. 24, 2016 for the death of Sam DuBose.
Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Megan Shanahan will hear the case. Another pre-trial hearing is set for April 6.
The defense has requested a change of venue. The judge is expected to hear arguments on that at the start of proceedings in October.
Tensing was arraigned July 30th on murder charges after he shot and killed driver Sam DuBose during a traffic stop July 19th. He has pled not guilty. His attorney maintains Tensing acted because he was scared for his life.
Tensing pulled over Sam DuBose for not having a front license plate, as is required in Ohio.
UC fired Tensing and restructured its public safety leadership. The university and DuBose's family recently reached a $5.3 million settlement.
