'WKRP In Cincinnati' Stars Making Rare Joint Appearance

"WKRP" cast members Howard Hessemann, Loni Anderson and Jan Smithers will appear together in Baltimore Sept. 13-15.

Road trip! Four WKRP In Cincinnati stars will make a rare public appearance together in September at a Baltimore area nostalgia convention.

Loni Anderson (Jennifer Marlowe), Howard Hesseman (Dr. Johnny Fever), Tim Reid (Venus Flytrap) and Jan Smithers (producer Bailey Quarters) will appear at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention Sept. 13-15 at the Hunt Valley Delta Hotel in Hunt Valley, MD.

They will do a one-hour Q&A session about WKRP at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13.

Also attending the Baltimore nostalgia convention: Barbara  Eden (I Dream of Jeannie), Kristy McNichol (Empty Nest), Diahann Carroll (Julia, Dynasty, Porgy and Bess), Robert Wagner (Hart to Hart, It Takes a Thief), Stefanie Powers (Hart to Hart, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E),  Peter Marshall (Hollywood Squares),  Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest, Flamingo Road, Friends), Ed Begley Jr. (St. Elsewhere, Better Call Saul), Jeremy Ambler (The Walking Dead), Jordan Rhodes (The Streets of San Francisco, Matlock, Adam-12) and Geri Reischl (The Brady Bunch Hour).

Other panels will discuss NBC's Today and Tonight shows; TV Guide; the town of Mayberry from the Andy Griffith Show; Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall; the career of cartoonist Charles Addams;  the making of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer; Diahann Carroll's career; famous cowboy heroes; and the Suspense radio series.

The Metropolitan Washington Old-Time Radio Club will re-create several old shows Saturday at noon.

Promoters says celebrities will be available 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.  The vendors' room will be open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday-Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Shows will be screened 24 hours a day.

Advance tickets may be purchased online for $15 each day. Admission is $20 at the door. The Saturday night banquet costs $50.

WKRP, which turns 40 in September, airs 9:30 p.m. weekdays on the MeTV network (Channel 5.2).  However, theMeTV version does not include the sitcom's original rock music.
