The new head of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base takes command Thursday.

Col. John Devillier will be installed as commander of the 88th Air Base Wing during a 10 a.m. ceremony at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. He replaces Col. Cassie Barlow who is retiring.

Until now Devillier served as Commander of Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He also previously commanded the 466th Air Expeditionary Group in Afghanistan.

The 88th wing is one of the largest air base wings in the Air Force with more than 5,000 military, civilian, and contract employees. Wright-Patt is the largest single site employer in Ohio with more than 27,000 employees.
