Young violinist Demi Fang

Demi Fang is a senior at Centerville High School, just outside Dayton, Ohio, and she is a truly accomplished violinist. As Frank Johnson discovers in this interview, she has just been named to the inaugural National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America, a touring orchestra created by Carnegie Hall and featuring 120 players all aged 16-19. After an intensive two weeks of rehearsals, they will embark on an international tour, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity under the mentorship of acclaimed conductor Valery Gergiev.
