Zoo baby giraffe has a name

Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo's newest addition, a baby female giraffe, now has a name. Online voters chose "Lulu," meaning "precious" in Swahili.

The Zoo says more than 5,400 people voted. Lulu was born October 12th to parents Tessa (mom) and Kimba (dad).

Officials say Lulu is doing well and is bonding with her parents. According to a release, "visitors can view the family through windows and/or a live-feed color monitor set up on the viewing deck.  Both Tessa and baby Lulu will be making their public debut, outdoors, in the coming weeks (weather pending)."
