This is the first time FC Cincinnati has partnered with an international top-division team.

FC Cincinnati is joining forces with Germany's TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to develop talent and improve business operations.

The partnership with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is the first time FC Cincinnati has collaborated with an international top-division team. Team president Jeff Berding said this is an opportunity to not just build the team, but promote the city.

"We wanted to bring the world to Cincinnati, and we wanted to promote Cincinnati to the world and we’re going to use the global platform of soccer to do so," Berding said.

Berding said FC Cincinnati is a young, ambitious club and that they are pursuing opportunities to learn and grow.

"The opportunity to partner with a club that's really already built a lot of capability was something that was very attractive to us," Berding said.

During the partnership, the teams will look at opportunities to create social responsibility projects and work together to promote social advancement in their communities.

FC Cincinnati is currently ranked in the bottom half of MLS, while Hoffenheim is 6th in the German Bundesliga.
