ABC aggressively attacks fall with five new series -- two more shows than either NBC or Fox – and expands its Tuesday comedy block.

"The Middle" moves from Wednesdays to 8 p.m. Tuesday to anchor a new two-hour sitcom block with "Fresh Off The Boat," "The Real O'Neals" and newcomer "American Housewife" starring Katy Mixon (Victoria on "Mike & Molly) and Diedrich Bader ("Drew Carey").

April showers bring May cancellations.  Yes, it's that time of the year when TV network executives are figuring out which low-rated or long-running series should be replaced by new shows.

According to USA Today, on the bubble are "The Grinder," "Grandfathered," "Castle," "Nashville," "The Odd Couple," "Sleepy Hollow" and "The X-Files."

Also at risk are NBC's "Telenovela" with Delhi Township native Diana Maria Riva; Fox's "Rosewood" with College Hill native Gabrielle Dennis; and Fox's "Second Chance" with Alexandria's Ciara Bravo.
