After a 10-month national search, WCPO-TV found its next news director at Scripps corporate headquarters downtown.

Anderson Township resident Chip Mahaney, who has worked in news management for CBS News and local TV stations, joined E. W. Scripps in 2008 as one of the charter members of what is now the digital division. He spent seven years in digital, as director of digital content, senior director of local operations and regional general manager, before becoming the company’s first national director of news recruitment.
