Congrats to my coworkers (especially Tana Weingartner) at WVXU-FM, who won first place for "Best Newscast" at the Ohio Associated Press Awards presented Sunday in Columbus.

The Enquirer and WXIX-TV are close to finalizing a partnership agreement to share news content.

TV viewers saw the first evidence of the co-operation on Channel 19's 10 p.m. news Tuesday, when Fox 19 reporter Frankie Jupiter did an update on the Piketon murders and thanked "our partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer."

There was a lot going on in our region this week, on both sides of the Ohio. In Cincinnati, revelations about how the city's parks department managed construction of Smale Riverfront Park have prompted calls for a review of the department's compliance with city purchasing policies. And in Kentucky the 2016 session of the General Assembly is wrapping up its work.
