The last Middletown Middies game at historic Wade E. Miller Gym Friday night will be truly special for Lenny Robinson.

The long-time announcer for Middies games on TV Middletown – which went dark in 2016 — will do the game with former TV partner Marty Flesher streamed live at the Stratford Heights Church of God website,  SHCOG.com.

The seats are gone -- removed and sold. The large porcelain CINCINNATI GARDENS letters erected for the 1949 opening have been promised to the American Sign Museum in Camp Washington.

And sometime in the not too distant future the Cincinnati Gardens arena – home of Oscar Robertson's NBA Cincinnati Royals, and the minor league Swords, Cyclones, Mohawks and Mighty Ducks – will be a pile of rubble.

Most knew her as Loraine "Sis" Pohlkamp Wolf, wife of former Cincinnati Royals coach Charley Wolf and matriarch of the Wolf boys who dominated basketball and tennis courts here in the 1970s and '80s…

Or as the grandmother proudly watching her "kiddos," the next generation of Wolf boys and girls playing basketball, volleyball or football at Mount Notre Dame and St. Xavier high schools.

But "Sis" Wolf, who died Tuesday at 87, was a national and local TV star in the early 1950s before marriage and motherhood.
