Turkeys away! Thanksgiving week means that it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas on TV again.

Former "Midwestern Hayride" producer Dick Murgatroyd will be in the WVXU-FM studio Thursday to talk about WLWT-TV's iconic country music show and the Golden Age of Live Cincinnati Television on our 1-2 p.m. "Cincinnati Edition" show.

Cameron Cochran isn't old enough to have watched the WLWT-TV's legendary "Midwestern Hayride" Saturday night TV show, but he's heard plenty about it from "Hayride" steel guitar player Chuck Rich.

And that inspired his "Hayride," a live country music-and-comedy sketch show Sept. 17 at the Woodward Theater in Over-the Rhine.

Dolly Parton's telethon 8-11 p.m. Tuesday to aid fire victims in the Gatlinburg area will air over the air here on Channel 25.5, along with the Great American Country (GAC) and Rural TV cable channels.

Downtown Covington plays a supporting role in NBC's new "Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love" Wednesday (9 p.m., Channel 5).

Covington portrays Sevierville, Tenn., in 1955, according to a story on the Covington News website.
