In February 2016, nine months before the presidential election that produced the Trump presidency, President Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland, a respected federal appeals court judge, to replace a conservative justice of the Supreme Court, Antonin Scalia, who died suddenly that month.

President Donald Trump announced his new Supreme Court Justice pick "will be a woman" at a campaign stop in Dayton, Ohio on Monday.

Trump said his team has been vetting five finalists, and that the official announcement would come on Friday or Saturday this week.

Following the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg - and with little more than a month to go before a presidential election - President Trump has said he will announce his third appointee to the U.S. Supreme Court later this week. Democrats, Republicans, and most of America, have a lot to say about this.

Will we know if Joe Biden will be the 46th POTUS on the night of the Nov. 3 election, or will Donald Trump be in place for another four years?

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is pledging to dismantle the sweeping changes President Trump has made to the American immigration system, if he wins the White House in November.

But that's easier said than done.

"I don't think it's realistic that Biden in four years could unroll everything that Trump did," says Sarah Pierce, a policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan think tank in Washington, D.C.

Famed journalist Bob Woodward is addressing criticism he has received for not promptly sharing with the public what the president told him about the coronavirus and the government's response in a series of interviews earlier this year.

Woodward's new book, Rage, which details the interviews, is set for release Tuesday.

A special three-judge court in New York on Thursday blocked the Trump administration's efforts to make an unprecedented change to who is included in the census numbers that determine each state's share of seats in Congress.

The president, the court concluded, cannot leave unauthorized immigrants out of that specific count.

President Donald Trump has announced 20 people he'd consider to be on the U.S Supreme Court if he has to fill another vacancy, and among them is first-term Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

Cameron is 34 years old and the first Black person to independently hold statewide office in Kentucky. He is a protégé of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and worked as general counsel in his Senate office.

The story in The Atlantic quoting anonymous sources saying President Donald Trump referred to American soldiers who lost their lives in service as "suckers" and "losers" is still getting widespread reaction. But Ohio's Republican U.S. Senator is casting doubt on whether Trump said what's been confirmed by several news outlets.

You'd have to have your MAGA hat screwed on too tight to believe that Donald Trump, by appointing Louis DeJoy, a political crony who has told a congressional committee that "I know very little about postage stamps," didn't start out with the intent of wrecking the U.S. Postal Service for political purposes.

If we had any advice for President Trump and his now-sputtering campaign against the U.S. Postal Service, it would be this:

Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.
