When the Licking River was still rising in Falmouth, Ky., emergency personnel had an evacuation plan in place thanks to a special interactive map. It showed right down to individual houses who would be flooded.

This week twenty years ago our region experienced one of the worst floods in modern history. While river communities in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana suffered, the hardest hit was the city of Falmouth, Kentucky. 

Cleanup Underway Following Falmouth Derailment

Citizens in the northern Kentucky city of Falmouth are breathing a sigh of relief following a train derailment involving cars that carried hazardous materials. A CSX train headed from Cincinnati to Atlanta came off the track Wednesday at mid-morning in the Pendleton County city of 2500.
